Manna is UPC's ministry to the poor and homeless of East Orlando. Our community is very socio-economically diverse, with many hundreds of homeless men and women and many more struggling with poverty. Not only are they strapped for cash, but they're often lacking in opportunity and resources to break out of the poverty cycle. We want to take care of the whole person, as we're instructed to by Jesus' example of bringing healing, meeting physical needs, and sharing the good news of the Gospel (Matthew 4:23; 9:35-36; 10:1,7-8). We want to equip those in our path with tools for daily living for the glory of God. We have a couple ways in which we meet people and hope to care for them.
Weekly from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Downey Park, this is a hot breakfast we cook on-site. We need a team of 10-12 people each week and have a variety of positions to fill. This is a good way for Life Groups or families with older children (ages 5 and up) to serve together. For more information, email Anna Limber.
